Campillo Reserva Selectra is a red wine from the D.O.C La Rioja produced by the Campillo winery. The wine is made from only Tempranillo grapes, the most commonly used grape in the region.
The grapes used for Campillo Reserva Selecta come from the Villa Lucía estate, which is situated 650 metres above sea level and is home to a continental and atlantic climate, which ideal for growing grapes.
After the harvest has been carried out, the grapes are placed into and incubate in tanks that have a 20,000kg capacity. After fermentation, various macerations take place for a period of 12 days in order to achieve tannicity and the desired colour. Following this, Campillo Reserva Selecta spends 22 months in american oak barrels before ageing in the bottle.
The Campillo winery is situated in the historic town of Laguardia, which is a part of the Grupo Faustino. They are known for their red wines and their use of the Tempranillo grape variety.
