A majestic 19th century residence, the Château de Bellevue overlooks the village of Villié-Morgon in the heart of the Beaujolais wine region, in southern Burgundy. Since its construction, the heart of the Château has beaten to the rhythm of its appellation. The Château de Bellevue brings together 18 hectares of Beaujolais Crus. The unique and magical winery has been entirely designed so that the plot selections find the most suitable container for the maceration of their berries. To preserve the identity of the terroirs, and to express the diversity of Gamay Noir, the "climats" are thus vinified individually. The objective: to offer vibrant and varied wines, with a pure aromatic expression and fine tannins. Grape: 100% Gamay, hand picked fruit from 7ha of vineyards on sandy loam soil.
Small yields, a traditional Burgundy-style vinification and 9-10 months' ageing in oak casks gives a wonderful wine with floral aromas, notes of cinnamon and mild tobacco. Soft and elegant on the silky-textured palate with fruity, cherry and kirsch flavours.
