The history of the Italian wine label of Antinori Prunotto dates back to 1904. This was when Notary Giacomo and Alfredo Prunotto, the Social Cellar named Ai Vini delle Langhe, was formed in the Serralunga municipality in Langhe, Italy. In the next few years, the cellar faced quite a few problems. In the 1930s, Prunotto married Luigina. During this time, the couple decided to take up the cellar under its control, by giving it the Prunotto name. Prunotto wines had a humble beginning, but very soon, it started exporting Italian special Barolo and Barbaresco wines to all over the world. Antinori Prunotto Barolo DOCG is a premium Italian wine that hails from the Barolo wine region in Piedmont, Italy. This red wine is made mostly from Nebbiolo grapes that grow in the rugged, hilly area surrounding the town of Barolo. Aged for two years in oak barrels, this wine boasts rich, complex flavors of dark fruit, spices, and leather, with subtle notes of vanilla and toasted oak. Its tannins are firm yet well-integrated, making for a harmonious taste experience. This wine is best enjoyed alongside rich and robust foods, such as grilled meats, game, and aged cheeses. Tasting Note The nose is complex and generous with pleasing aromas of rose petals, red fruit and spicy notes. The palate is full, well-balanced with velvety tannins
